  1. Klingberg, John
  2. Lajoie, Maxime
Détails additionnels:
For San Jose both these guys will be outside the top 6 D when healthy. Toronto takes their $3.35M in actual salary and the penalty to bury Simek and move out Klingberg ($2M salary) and Lajoie (450k minor league salary). So San Jose saves $1M in real money which matters to their ownership.

Détails additionnels:
Deal only happens if Tre knows he can resign him around the same money for 3-4years.

TOR
  1. Bouchard, Evan
  2. Campbell, Jack (2 000 000 $ retained)
EDM
  1. Jones, Martin

  3. Samsonov, Ilya
  4. Timmins, Conor
  5. Choix de 1e ronde en 2026 (TOR)
Détails additionnels:
$2M for 4 years on Campbell is better than seven years of cap hits that look like this: $3.85M, $1.1M, $2.3M, $2.6M, $1.5M, $1.5M, $1.5M

Toronto essentially used the negative value here to be able to afford Bouchard.

From Edmonton's perspective Sammy could solve the problem in net (low risk as a pending UFA), McMann is someone they like, Jones is in the minors but can be another option in net if nothing else works. Also the 1st and $2M+ in cap space can help them get Tanev or another D. Timmins is also a hail Mary type lottery ticket for them.

The return is fine.

But I think Zadorov wants a raise. Which I would really debate. I could see him wanting 4.5-5.

Sharks owner is worth $10 billion and has never shown great concern about shedding salary in this manner solely to justify a bad trade

Money had never been the issue. Typical Canadian arrogance that only owners up north have money to spend.

The sharks literally took nothing in return for Karlsson because they didn't want to retain Salary.

The stuff you guys smoke down in Cali must be real good.

Love you. You actually have great opinions. I can do more teams. Just bored and out of work at the moment. Gig in Vancouver ended haven't had a job since Kyle left. Hard times.

Who cares how much money an Owner has or is willing to throw away when their GM’s have a Cap Ceiling to work with though 🤦‍♂️ and I’d like some of that grass too

Not to save money but because they wanted the cap space instead. Cap Space is a valuable asset, (plus a 1st). Sharks owner has never been cheap, any suggestion that he is is pure speculation. But like have a good time posting terrible trade ideas.

And yes the weed in California is fantastic.

you would need to give the leafs a first to take that Campbell contract. Almost no way that gets moved. Evan Bouchard is also completely terrible defensively.

Totally understand you being a leafs fans and having Dubas in your picture. No understanding of the difference in real money which can be unlimited and Cap money whoch is very valuable considering the mis management of Toronto cap for the last decade.
