Well, now you've exaggerated the other way. But yeah, this Drai offer presumably won't get their attention.

I mean maybe not though haha. Call it Buch and 3 1sts as the value.

So five 1sts in value for two years of Drai? Yeah, that's excessive. The difference between Buch and Drai is not three 1sts, my friend.

I don't know if you know how to quantify the difference though. And it'd be 2 yrs and then the rest of his career. Unless something weird happened.

But ya Draisaitl's value above replacement is so much higher than Buchnevich's it probably is 3 1sts. But anyway it'd never happen like that. It'd be more like Buchnevich, Kyrou, Snuggerud, !st.

Bruh... now you're up over six 1sts in value. Maybe even closer to seven. And the Blues would presumably not be able/willing to re-sign him anyway.

then they wouldn't trade for him

Eichel with a broken neck, sat out for a yr returned almost 4 1sts and a 2nd

I never said they would.

Heh. Tuch was not worth near two 1sts at that time, and folks would debate whether he is even worth that now. Krebs was no longer worth a 1st by then, either. I'll be a little generous maybe and say Eichel returned three 1sts and a 2nd in value (minus the 3rd sent to Vegas with him). So a hair over three 1sts total.

And yeah, Drai would and should return a bit more IMO.

You said they would trade so much for 2 yrs of Draisaitl and my reply is they wouldn't make the trade if they weren't basically sure they could resign him.

How was Krebs not a worth a first. He literally just got drafted and fell because of an injury. Tuch was on a cheap deal and one the best players on Vegas. Certainly better than someone like Hagel for instance. In a tier close to Buchnevich. But ya Draisaitl vs Eichel isn't even comparable either.

Dude. When traded, Tuch had put up more than 40 points once, in part because he also had missed a ton of time to injuries for a few seasons. He was maybe Vegas' 9th best player. In no way, shape or form did he approach Buch's current worth back then. And Krebs' stock was falling at that time, again in part because he could not stay in one piece. You're remembering wrong, my friend.

Stats definitely will lie to you on Tuch. If you watched Vegas games regularly you he was the best player on the ice like every 3rd game. Absolutely expected him to do what he has in Buffalo when he was traded. As for Krebs, he seemed to bounce around but was good everywhere he played. Absolutely was worth a high 1st at the time.

But the more difficult thing to quantify is the difference between Buchnevich and Draisaitl. As good as Buchnevich is, Draisaitl is another 50% better. You pay a premium for that. There are quite a few Buchnevich level guys, every yr you can get one via free agency or trade. Draisailt level you basically need to draft because they are never traded or get to UFA.
