Habs fans said it for Edmundson, Vancouver fans for Schenn, etc. People seem to miss that Chiarot was considered by GMs as a minute eating guy. He was playing 24 minutes a night in Montreal, their top penalty killer, facing the tough competition, etc, and had gone to the cup final doing so. Guys like Edmundson, Schenn and Zadorov aren't that. These 3rd pairing 'big, physical' guys haven't been getting that kind of return.

The only real good Comparable Players are:

Ben Chiarot when he was Traded to FLA
David Savard when he was Traded to TBL
And maybe, Scott Mayfield who has never been Traded

Zadorov is Younger, Bigger and Better than all of those guys were when they were Traded, so he’s worth even more than they were

Zadorov is asking for a Trade in order to get more minutes and a contract extension, so he’ll be wanting a Top-4 spot and contract extension, which can likely be done all at the same time if/when he’s Traded, so with term, he’s again worth even more

Well, you were right. Glad to be wrong and hopefully it means other big defensemen won't bring back ridiculous returns.

The list of 'this guy is going to get the Chiarot return' but doesn't gets longer yet every teams fans will keep saying their 3rd pairing physical defenseman is going to get a 1st.
