Description
Give Brown some time in the minors to find his game and if he does, the team can bring him back for the playoffs but if not, he can stay in the minors due to his performance bonus

    MTL
    1. Ceci, Cody
    Détails additionnels:
Ceci hasn't been horrible this year but the oilers need to clear his cap to upgrade his spot. Habs seem to like veteran dmen and can easily move him retained at the deadline this year or next year for some value back
    2.
    TOR
    1. Desharnais, Vincent
    Détails additionnels:
Leafs have interest in Desharnais and are not playing Timmins at all. Seems like a likley deal both sides would make
    3.
    EDM
    1. Pesce, Brett (2 012 500 $ retained)
    Détails additionnels:
Canes side: Quite a big trade but I could see the canes doing it. They have loads of quality dmen to take over Pesce's spot and since he only has one year left, the likelihood of him re-signing isn't high. Cashing in on his value for assets will help the canes to either buy at the deadline or keep to add to their already strong prospect pool. Since there's a big question mark in goal for the canes, giving a chance to Campbell who can very well pick up his game in front of a strong canes team isn't a big risk as his salary becomes 2.5 mil for them, a contract easy to bury, buy-out, or trade.

Oilers side: Campbell has not worked out with the team and sadly didn't fit in for them. Trading him at half retained saves the oilers from buying him out or burying him in the minors. Even though they have to move some valuable trade pieces, a quality dman that can play with Nurse will do wonders for the team, and just as importantly, cap space is freed up to create flexibility.

    Détails additionnels:
I'm not sure the value of goaltenders on the market as many people perceive it differently so I made a package that might interest the Flames. Firstly, Wolf is NHL ready and is probably better than both Flame goalies right now, but the organization for some reason doesn't want to play him. If the Oilers target him to split time this year with Skinner, this could be a huge move that benefits them in the long run. Calgary gets a very nice package of assets while giving up a goalie who they deem is the third best in the organization right now, and the Oilers get what is hopefully a goalie that can provide stability

Not a necessary trade but acquiring a guy that can be a solid complementary top 6 winger can be huge help in supporting the depth scoring

This is truly Montreal and Toronto levels of delusions. I have to say, thanks for the laugh.

Now, the Canes aren’t moving Pesce. That was made clear when camp started. They also certainly don’t want the anchor that is Campbell. So just ignoring the fact that you are barely even paying enough (if that is even enough, which is probably unlikely) to dump Campbell, you have nothing of value going the Canes way for Pesce.

Wolf doesn't have to go on waivers, and RN it's a good thing he is in the AHL. His confidence would get destroyed, and playing behind this team would be horrible for him

You admit that you're dumping Ceci for cap issues to a team that gets NOTHING back and doesn't need that player... who is signed for another year?????????
    Delusional.

There isn't a question mark in goal for the Canes, they have Kochetkov and Raanta both of whom are good tenders, if a little inconsistent in Pyotr's case. Even if the oilers retain on Campbell (which is ridiculous, they wouldn't retain 2.5x4), trading your a very good RHD for a goalie who just got sent to the AHL is nonsensical. A first and Broberg could help the Canes buy at the deadline, but with the retention on Pesce they no longer accrue enough cap space to make a big move.

Savard, a veteran dman was signed by the habs, Matheson is also a vet, while majority of the habs d corps after are grown through their system. For some reason, NHL teams like having veteran presences to play with their young talent so why not take a free Ceci who is a serviceable dman and will almost guarantee value back at the deadline if you trade him with retention this year or next. The trade is built similarly to the Kulikov trade (from MIN to ANA), however, Ceci makes a bit more money but at the same time plays a more prominent role on his team. If not the habs, I'm sure a team will take him for free as there was interest in him this summer.

There's a difference between veteran presences and veterans taking minutes in a game or spots in the lineup away from the prospects, cece isn't the type of D teams go for at the deadline either and his contract has one more year, so no montreal won't be interested for all the reasons above

Actually, I agree 100% on your last sentence. The Habs are not the best trade partner for Ceci, but yes, a team will probably find use in him for sure
