I don't think you need to add a 3rd.

1st round pick for Tanev (50% retained) fits the market price well enough. Flames would probably push for a 2024 1st, as you rarely see 1st rounders tossed out 3 years into the future.

yeah that's why i used the McCabe trade as a comp. it was a 2025 first traded at the 2023 deadline. this would be a 2026 1st at the 2024 deadline

Why on earth would you want to add Reaves.... lol. Canucks looks really good so far, I don't think there is any reason to make a drastic change like that this early. Plus Reaves is a waste of space.

That Myers trade is awful, Reaves doesnt play on this roster. Calgary can ask for a 1st for Tanev but I dont think theyll get it, 2nd at most IMO. Freidman reported his NTC is structured to keep him in Canada, so likely only has Peg, Van and T.O as options.

This Canucks team has so much FWD depth and only one hole on RHD. I think the fix is a lot more simple. Get some cap space in a Beauvillier trade (or Garland) and sign Bear.

Id do a Tanev deal but Garland or Beauvillier need to be in the trade with a '25 Second.

I agree. I also doubt the Canucks want the risk of that either. If we're doing this, we're a playoff team, and we want essentially the guarantee that it's not a lottery pick.

The Reeves trade is crazy, they could just bury him for a 200k penalty. It's not like they care about the cash.
