Horrendous trade for EDM they aren’t gonna lay to dump campbell they will just buy him out after this season

Trade 1) Don't think the Oilers would really want Anderson, also why not just include Ylonen in the 1st trade

Trade 2) Carolina already has 3 for sure NHL goalies: Andersen, Raanta and Kochetkov. The also have the Perets goalie that won the NCAA tournament with Quinnipac last year who could probably give them some games, I highly doubt they trade for a goalie

Just checked and it looks Perets is playing ECHL so maybe he can't play a couple games lol, maybe Carolina makes a trade like this if another serious injury in the crease happens

They just signed Halak to a PTO so they have more than enough bodies in the crease

that is a lot of cap to eat. almost half his AAV to eat for 3 years and then 3 years of 1.3 million.

You know they dont make the playoffs with their current goaltending. And no playoffs mean Drai is gone and McDavid asks for a trade. But sure wait until the offseason

And the Oilers are already in cap hell with Drai needing a huge raise and McDavid needing one the year after, They already have no depth so any dead cap would kill them.

I agree in principale but, they have 1 more year after this one to sell those guys on Edmonton's future.

It's a gamble to wait but, might be worth it if they save the assets.
Also you could make the trade and still suck anyway and McJesus and Draisaitl still leave, so I understand the hesitation

Edm is screwed with Campbell and the nurse contract and there is no way out of either of them....they have to fix those players as no one will take on those cap hits.

Anderson has more value than Campbell. Same contract but a forward with 20 goal potential (especially on a line with McDavid) is worth more than a goalie whos gonna get bought out

Both are awful and worth nowhere near what they’re making. Both have very negative value. A 1 for 1 swap is fair
