So you want the Oilers to pay a 1st, 3rd and Lavoie for Montembeault? Anderson’s contract is horrible, just like Campbell’s.

Anderson for Campbell is close enough to a wash that I can't justify attaching much value to the swap. Anderson is an NHLer but either would be bought out by EDM at year's end. As such, I don't see how Ceci, Lavoie, a 1st, and 3rd for Montembault works for EDM.

There is absolutely no reason form Edmonton to make this trade.

You guys all seem to think Edmonton is getting ripped off here but Ceci has as much value to Montreal as Anderson has to Edmonton and Campbell's value to Montreal is even less than it is to Edmonton since we already have 3 goalies who are better than him. From a Habs perspective, this deal would be strictly about getting the assets to help the rebuild, this doesn't improve the team at all, especially since as soon as Savard returns Ceci would be buried. So the Deal is more like Campbell for Anderson, Lavoie + 3rd for Monty and Ceci for the 1st

TBF, Ceci is a much small contract, maybe worth a 2nd to dump at the very best. Lavoie and the 3rd to dump Ceci, so that still leaves Monty to be worth a first, which I don’t think is the case

Nah, Ceci may be valueless to MTL but it's nothing even close to a 5.5mil cap burden for 4 more years no matter how much you try to spin it. Whichever EDM has of Campbell and Anderson would almost certainly be bought out at the end of the year so EDM would be spending a 1st, 3rd, and young F and taking on a similar buyout for the "luxury" of acquiring a middling goalie and moving Ceci which, whether people realise it or not, would actually downgrade EDM's D corps.

When you are in the ocean looking for a life raft other teams throw you anchors, this is your anchor EDM.
