He's 33 signed for 4 seasons? Karlsson got a 1st. This is 2 firsts and a guy just drafted in the 1st round last year.

Seems pretty fair.

You're way off. Josi is a former Norris trophy winner. 33 isn't too old for an elite D. Preds laugh hysterically. As if they'd take rental Klingberg as part of the trade. 🤣

Karlsson was a three time and reigning Norris winner. Also 33. Arguably the best D of the last 20 years.

Again why is Josi worth more than 3x as much?

Also if you think a cap dump isn't coming back. Like it did in every other trade with salary then you don't understand the NHL.

It always needs to be one trade, that solves the problems.

One trade won't solve everything but it makes more sense to trade 3 1sts for Weegar or Josi than a 1st for 20 games of O'Reilly or 10 games of Foligno.

Tampa gets flack for it's strategy for 2 1st for years of hagel or a draft class for years of Jeanott seems better today that the leafs trades we praised.

No, it always needs to be multiple trades per year that don't solve the problem. When has your theory ever been the case?

I respect Josi's value as much as anyone, that is nowhere near being way off. That's an A/B prospect in Cowan who's more likely than not to be a top 6 forward on any team in the league, sooner rather than later. 2 1sts and a 3rd, along with an NHL defenseman and a potential top 9 forward. This package does not suggest he thinks 33 is too old for an elite D, but at that age and with that contract this is very generous to say the least. He uses the most recent Kalrsson trade as a comparable, but even the trade to SJ when he was quite literally the league's best defenseman makes this look generous.

Nah, the issue here is you think you're the only person in this conversation who recognizes how good josi is, so let me start by saying I see him as one of the best D in the league. The most recent Karlsson trade is the best comparable, and this is a way better return for NSH without retention on a longer deal. So you'll need to give a better explanation than just one word answers if you think I'm "delusional"

Even if you paid more and got Josi does this solve the real problems with the team? Bad coach, no identity and contrary to Captain Tavares comments…a lack of brotherhood.

And what now Liljegren is a top pair D? Little Marchand clowned him and showed what’s in store in the playoffs. He is at best this year in the playoffs what he was the past few…spare parts.
