Maybe Trade Jake

Description
Trying to go for a Neal for Hornqvuist esque trade. Jake is undoubtedly the best player in the deal but Jeannot may be just the player the pens have been drastically missing since hornqvuist fell off a cliff. Paul would be a great third liner for what our bottom six is trying to accomplish plus isnt a total liability in the offensive end. Pair this with a different HC and i think we can make a really nice bounce back this season. Nylander can be replaced with White, Hinostoza, or even POJ but i think he is the best of the 4.

that return on jake is trash. If you're going to trade him either get a combo of Draft Capital and prospects. or a U24 NHL player

Would love Guentz, but I don't think the Bolts aren't gonna move Jeannot before they get a full season out of him, especially when he's in year 1 of 2 of his reasonably priced contract.
Same goes for Paul, cost effective middle six forward for TB.

I truly don't know if we'd have the room to resign Stamkos and Hedman if we took this and signed him long term tbh lol

Step away from the hallucinogens and seek professional help. Only if Pittsburgh is adding those firsts

Tampa doesn't have 2 more 1sts to spend... + Jake is too good to be spending 1rsts on according to Brisebois' trading history... Brisebois' wondering if Pat Maroon and Corey Perry are still available

Yeah let's see JBB traded firsts for Coleman, Goodrow,Savard, TB won the Cup after doing so Hagel, went to Cup after doing so, scored 30 goals the following year. Jeannot injured 3 games into his lightning tenure a we'll see result. Brisebois has been pretty f***ING successful trading 1st. I understand you're a Leafs fan and most likely have no idea what winning the Cup is about but Cup victories are much more important than first round picks.

And? Trading 5 picks for a dude who got healthy scratched... 2 1sts for a guy who was worse than Alex DeBrincat and went for more... Spending 1sts on 3rd line players is totally the way to go...

He really wasn't healthy. If those third line guys are big factors in back to back cups I trade those firsts a billion times out of a billion

Guentzel definitely fills out Tampa's top 6 and makes it deadly. But trading away 2/3's of their 3rd line to get him makes the bottom 6 pretty worthless. Kind of like the Pens has been recently. Can't make a real Cup run with only two effective forward lines. And Tampa probably can't afford to resign Guentzel next year either. Tampa Bay probably declines.

They weren't though... Tampa wins those 2 cups with or without those 3rd line guys... And if they kept those picks, they most likely win more...

No they don't Coleman Goodrow and Gourde started 95% of the periods during those playoffs for a reason. Barclay Goodrow was on the ice to end the bubble and 21 season for a reason.

And? You're telling me the current Tampa Bay Lightning, in their prime, plus more depth can't beat Dallas and MTL?

Which run? 2020, with their young guys coming up... Or 2021, where Vasy was unbeatable?

Both actually it wasn't continually referred to as the best third line to n hockey for no reason. Were they the most important pieces ? No. Does TB win back to back without them? Again no.

Hagel I was fiercely against however I was thankfully somewhat wrong . Hagel is a very solid piece. 30/30 last year second amongst fowards I take-aways last season top PP&PK guy. Did fine with that one. Jeannot is a let's see he was injured (high ankle sprain) 3games into his lightning tenure. Gas played well so far this year.

Considering ADB went for 1 1st, 1 4rth and Kubalik... I think Tampa would be much better off with ADB than Hagel

I feel like if this move happened it would be signaling they are mivjing on from one of stamkos or hedman. More than likely stamkos as youd have your 1st line set with guentz-point-kuch

Hagel is much better defensively doesn't take shifts off. I'm not trusting ADB to not get disinterested and lazy again like he did in Ottawa anyway. They best predictor of future actions is past behaviors.
