I honestly think both teams decline. TOR has centers, they don't need to decrease the right-now talent.
Boston has their future 1C in Poitras, a guy that could be an 85-point 2-way guy. Why would they trade him, especially noting he is already playing a very solid role in the team

I imagine that Boston would want a top 40 centre going back the other way at a minimum, probably with max retention since those guys typically cost a lot.

It’s kind of a false equivalency.

If Toronto is trading Nylander for prospects, he’s a rental and his salary expectations must be through the roof. At that point, I wouldn’t trade a prospect like Poitras in a deal.

If they allowed contract negotiations, then you probably consider it if the salary is not outlandish.

Neither of those things are going to happen

The value is a player like Poitras. Center in an ELC that is playing in the top 6.
