Only Hanifin is realistic but would cost a lot
What would be your left side with Hanifin in

Bryson hasn’t played so far this season. Jokiharju has played as an okay 2nd pairing defenseman, and EJ has been a good 3rd pair guy for us, and a big part of the improved PK so far this season. Probably not interested in moving either of those two.

I wouldn't go near:
Lyubushkin
Bryson
Johnson
Määttä
Kulikov
Simek
Scandella
Myers
Dillon

Unavailable, most likely:
Jokiharju - Playing very well to start the season and the Sabres are very thin on RHD depth
Durzi - looks like he'll be a coyote for quite some time, Arizona won't be giving him up any time soon
Walsh - think he explicitly asked to be traded into the Bruins organization
Forbort - doing well with the Bruins and they wouldn't be interested in moving solid veterans out at this point in time
Grzelcyk - same as above
Chatfield - Canes wouldn't want to move him to their biggest in-division rival
Petry - Detroit are playing too well to be interested in trading him at this point in time
Gostisbehere - same as above
Addison - Very important for the Wild's cap situation and is playing pretty well so they aren't gonna move him (LMAO BASED GUERIN)
Roy - Top 4 RHD on a fringe contender, Kings aren't trading him
Cole - Canucks just got him in and is very important for their defensive depth, not getting traded unless closer to TDL
Martinez - love him but Vegas aren't gonna trade him unfortunately
DeMelo - Jets are doubling down on making the playoffs and wouldn't let him go unless they're out of it by TDL (which would be unlikely in my opinion, they're underrated)

Term, RFA rights and / or cap hit is an issue:
Fabbro
Larsson

That leaves:
Hanifin
Tanev
Zadorov
Bean
Boqvist
Kovacevic
Carrier
Schultz

My top picks out of these would be Zadorov, Carrier, Schultz and Tanev. I think each of them would serve a clear role as a rental while also not being prohibitively expensive to acquire.
I do think that each of the 8 guys above would be worthwhile to look into trading for though, but I would also like to see Foote, Hatakka, Vilén and even Nemec get a few looks at the NHL level before anything actually goes down.

My opinion is no trade until after nemec gets his 9 game tryout. I like shultz zadorov and tanev a lot.

Agree with most of your assessments. I do like Dillon tho

only small thing i would note is we just called up Lohrei and Zboril so i think a move is in the works to offer a little more flexibility and stick to the plan of letting some kids play
I think best chance of prying away from BOS would be Gryz. Can play top 4 mins ea side of the ice, just a little small sometimes during playoff hockey.
Walsh i think you're correct, and Forbort while i think probably better fit for NJD in a playoff run, is more valuable to BOS than on the market.

Because he's a smaller D-Man, i'd probably say a 2nd in 2024 draft or prospect equivalent (I don't know the system well enough to accurately predict one's value)
Since your 2024 is gone, probably be a 2025 2nd and something else smaller like one of those 5ths
50% retained would be a 1st though i'd think

Interesting what you’ve said here. Wasn’t aware of the roster moves Bruins moved recently.
I’ll point out that your suggested returns strike me as rather optimistic, I should expect the draft pick to be lowered by one round in each instance you’ve mentioned here.
If the Devils are dangling a 1st I should much rather have them spending it on Hanifin or Tanev ahead of Grzelcyk.

you're probably more closer in value, but historically i'm thinking deadline cost. 1 year of Orlov/Hathaway at last deadline with retainer was 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Craig Smith (mostly salary but still bottom player)
i know not the same thing, but was my basis. Durzi got a 2nd, and i'd say pretty comparable players. Durzi little younger, but not as good, similar builds and play syles

Only Players i would go after are Zadorov,Hanifin,Carrier,Fabbro and Maybe Tanev. Schutlz eh the devils need someone who can actually defend and Schultz is just slightly above Smith level. the rest are HUGE NO THANKS, Boqvist cant even sniff the CBJ lineup thats a tell right there to stay away. Bean and Kov are just Meh to me.

AZ is no way getting rid of durzi, dumba at TDL maybe 2nd w 50%.
veg cant see them trading him either, even if ingram goes veniza, veg is under good contract w solid numbers is young and AZ has no prospects close to NHL ready.
