Girard plays top 4 minutes; Malinski already showed he isn't ready for even 3rd pair minutes and Behrens is still in college. The chances of either just taking Girard's spot are effectively nil.

When the Avs show some interest in actually getting guys from the AHL to the NHL, maybe. But they're playing Jack Johnson instead of Malinski, Clurman or anyone else. Kind of gives away how they feel about letting young guys play, doesn't it?
