If they don't acquire a pick that could turn into something or nothing, Forbort is gone and they will lose him for... definitely nothing. Might as well take a chance with that pick and they would be lucky to get a pick for Forbort.

Is he really that much better? He's been on 3 team in 4 years. He's a big physical d-man with very limited offensive ability. He's the RHD Derek Forbort. The deal just doesn't do anything for Boston. They'd have 5 RHD on the roster and 2LHD. The whole reason they'd move Forbort is to gain cap space and bring up Lohrei.
