That`s 5 mil raise, literally Okposo + E. Johnson being gone covers it.

I mean is he worth losing over a potential 1M overpay (for the first few years, he’s only 23 after all and will hopefully continue progressing). With Tage on a deal, and Cozens being what he’s worth and hopefully becoming a deal there aren’t many more massive contracts the Sabres are going to have to dole out in te short term. By then Skinner/Okposo/E Johnson are all gone, along with the cap increase. Dahlin’s contract will never be a problem. So to answer yeah, he’s worth it.

Not alone, but it could become a problem when Power gets his pay day. Could possibly have 3 D eating 25mill in space. Gonna need Johnson Novikov Strbak to step up hopefully and even out your D pay scale.

D should be what, 35-40% of the payroll? That gives another 7-9M to pay in that scenario. Doesn’t seem like a problem as you’ll always have 1 ELC or vet min and the another smaller one as it’ll be the 5/6 Dman (EJ is different this year, won’t be a regular thing). Allows one more 4/5 M guy. Not a huge deal imo.

Sabres can pay Power and bridge forwards until 26-27 -- Skinner's last year(s) at $9m with an NMC might present some problems. But they can worry about that later.
