Yes retaining does increase his value and honestly if you guys pay the second team you could almost get a first back for him but you’d maybe have to throw in a 4th

But that wasn't what happened with the Petry trade. We gave Montreal a 4th and Lindstrom for Petry @ $2.343750M and at the end of the season Lindstrom wasn't playing much because they felt putting Chiarot on his off side was a better option.
