Dont get me wrong I love me some Nazem Kadri, and I think he would bring the right blend of skill and grit to a Penguins lineup that does not have that type of player and has had major success with a player of that type of skill (think Kadri is a much better Hornqvist type player), however in order to fully endorse this move I would need to know the follow up moves that would be required in order to get cap compliant.

Yeah, if the creator checked the Pens page, he'd see when all is said and done with our current roster, we'll have zero space. Even though Kadri is overpaid by around $1Mish, I'd still love to have him. We just don't have the room or even anyone we could ship to them to free up that space. The cap is projected to go up around 3.5M to 4.5M next year and most of that likely goes to Jake's extension. We'll have Carter's contract freeing up a little, but not enough to fit Kadri.

Great trade in terms of value for the Pens though. Not so much for CGY lol

Detroit isn’t a goalie away from competing.

No doubt Calgary loses this particular deal. In looking as to what would free up the space in order for this to work 1/2 players would probably be shipped somewhere from the Pens.

A) Jake, as mentioned the move would create issues in extending Jake and with his current hit it would free up close to the necessary space to bring in Naz...... Don't forsee this as 87 and 59 have a lot of chem and I have a feeling 87 has enough pull to keep Jake a Penguin.

B) Raks, trading Raks would free up 5/7 mil necessary to bring in Naz....... don't think this move happens either as Raks is 1/2 RHS forwards that has above average shooting capabilities on the roster exchanging him for Kadri would add yet another LHS forward in which our top 6 would 5 LHS and 1 RHS which I dont think is a recipe for success

I don't like the idea of moving Raks... at all. Not even to make room for Kadri.

Wings pass, goalies no longer get that kind of package and one that had a sub par season surely is not getting that.

Neither do I which is why I said I'd have to see what the other deals to fix cap situation would be before I'd even consider this

Markström is good but he is 5yrs older and his GAA is only .2 better than Husso and they about the same SV%. Taking that into account the upgrade isn’t worth a 1st and a 2nd.
