Ottawa is not looking to trade Pinto

You'd have to offer something they WANT more and none of these pieces is close to that.

I mean it would solve the cap problem but as much as I don’t mind Wahlstrom that would be a very tough pill to swallow.

Ottawa wouldn't trade Pinto for DeBrincat last year and wouldn't trade him for Chychrun in March but you think Wahlstrom or a 2nd round pick would convince them to change their mind?

Also - I don't think Pinto is a fit for the Islanders anyway - Isles have center position locked up for a couple of years. They wouldn't be making best use of him.

I just don't think there's a trade there.

Not to mention that if Pinto was going to sign at $1.8M I think it would already be done.

There's a million reasons to criticize Dorion's work and the way he manages things, yes. It still doesn't mean they'd do this trade
