Suter isn't being traded literally right after being signed, especially for a winger. Vancouver is already over crowded on the wings and barely sufficient with center depth.

Colorado have kept MacDermid off waivers ever since acquiring him in a trade two years ago. They know he'd get claimed and don't want to lose him, even if it means having him take up capspace for long stretches and never using him in the lineup. Needless to say your waiver claim is unrealistic because he won't get waived.
