I think Anaheim will look to move towards contention sooner rather than later, and unless Carlsson and McTavish are ready to be the 1/2C sooner rather than later, the trade would set them back a ton.

In terms of the package itself, I don't know if they would want both Husso and Cossa, and maybe they would want a defender (probably an NHL ready one) instead of one of those guys.

Value-wise though, it seems pretty good but I don't think it's worth it for Anaheim. It might be a bit off though. Personally, I see it as:

Zegras for Raymond, Danielson, and the 1st (accepted)
Gibson for Husso, Cossa, and a 2nd (possibly rejected)

Op probably looking at it as:

Zegras for RaymondhDanielson + a 2nd (might be accepted if Zegras wanted out)
Gibson for Husso + Cossa + a 1st (accepted, although they might want a different player over Husso)

I may be higher on Raymond than you are. I saw it as Raymond+ = Zegras. And worried about an aging goaltender with four more years on his deal. Danielson's potential is a hard to ignore as well. Cossa is boom or bust and Husson is just a cap filler.

Bye bye future assets, hello a wildly overrated goalie and a player not worth anything close to that package!

Not sure why Detroit does either of these; Overpay like all hell.

If it includes Raymond; it's not a fair deal for Detroit. This guy hates Raymond.

I'm actually pretty high on Raymond but I think Anaheim would value Zegras very highly, at minimum 4 1sts. So I valued Raymond as two 1sts.

Verbeek is also going to try getting a massive package for Gibson worthy of an elite goalie.

I don't think Yzerman would be the one to give that package for those two though.

Don't think any team would offer anything equivalent.

Possibly not, but Anaheim isn't looking to move Zegras. As for Gibson, maybe they would rather have him around and hope that he can turn things around.

Given that Anaheim is allegedly offering basically half of what he should be getting; doesn't seem Anaheim is intending to keep him either. As for Gibson, I think hoping he turns it around would be best given his value is probably lower than what most fans would like to admit.

Sounds to me like Anaheim just wants him to sign an 8-year deal. My guess would be thst Zegras wants the same AAV for half the term, so then maybe Anaheim is countering with half the amount for the reduced term.

You’re really close in terms of value maybe change the first to 24 or 25 then that will work
