Read somewhere that Pesce is off the trade block supposedly. Value aside, I doubt the Leafs would want two ufa defenders for Nylander, probably Pesce + a forward that CAR likely wouldn't give, or at the very least Pesce + Teravainen (assuming he's seen as a top 6/middle 6 option as the season gets underway.

In terms of value, the Leafs are probably wanting a lot more if they do end up trading Nylander, I saw something about an Eichel type of return whatever that means and the fact that they are trying to transition to a C just further suggests that acquiring him will cost a lot. It also means that they are likely to be more willing to sign him to a mega deal if it works out.

You are not getting TWO top 4 dmen for one top 6 winger and a bottom 6 winger.

Pesce for Nylander does help and fit both team but the gap between the two is not Skjei. And cap wise, keeping brodie but doing a nylander for pesce and Drury or a 2nd (?) provides TOR the cap space they need, but it strengthens defense while making a pretty pathetic bottom 6

Its also 2 dmen for 2 wingers which doesn;t work.

Maybe McCabe and Nylander for Pesce and Skjei and a bit is more in the realm.

But in moving brodie for whatever, its one step forward and one step back

Top 6 forward? No. Willy is an elite offensive first liner

A bit nit picking? Theres no denying he is one of the leagues elite players, but he doesn;t play top line in TOR and might not be top line in CAR either, thats why I said top 6.
