He did that here - he just put Timmins as a forward.

I agree this group of players is the most likely outcome.

I hope Robertson gets a shot, but since he is waiver exempt, he will need to have an exceptional showing in pre-season to make the opening night roster. He will need to outplay Lafferty so bad that they are willing to risk losing Lafferty on waivers or they trade him.

Kampf will be 3rd line center with Domi LW and Jarnkrok RW. I wouldn't be surprised to see JT as center on the 2nd PP and Bert on the #1.

It would be tough to put Knies on the #1pp because if they put JT on the #2 and Bert on the #1 you would have to put Nylander on the #2 to allow Knies on the #1. This is a mouth full LOL.

I wouldn't be going the 11/7 route, but I think Timmins needs time to develop as NHL Dman, and not play many minutes at forward.
Leafs PP seem to have more bite this year. Bertuzzi replaces Bunting, That still leaves, Matthews, Tavares, Nylander and maybe Marner (who played a lot at the point). as forwards And maybe Knies or Domi
Reilly certainly will play a lot and we'll see how much Klingberg plays with or without Reilly. The key addition is Klingberg which give more flexibilty on the back end.

The Klingberg signing was a HUGE mistake IMO - THAT is the one thing I wish the Leafs had NOT done during the off season. Should have let Timmins pair with Giordano and QB the #2PP for 1/3 the price of Klingberg.

Regarding Klingberg....well he did have nice short run with Minni, so that may have Trevling (but I agree with you). July 1st causes teams and players to do irrational things.
Could the Leafs have done better, probably but they might have wait till August to fill out the roster.
Leafs have had some poor GMs lately who were poor in negotiations....Fergusson, Burke, Nonis, Dumas, And Trevling didn't do himself any favours with the Flames in Huberdeau and Weager.
As a Leaf fan, I certainly hope Klingberg plays to his contract. But it does seem like a strange fit doesn't it?

They should have gotten Dumba for the same money.

I don't disagree with, but don't think Dumba was holding out for a longer term contract with more $$$$.?.....he expected to get it. Maybe the Leafs and other teams offered Dumba better contracts that his Arizona 3.9m X 1. But when Dumba declined earlier offers, teams went in other directions, and then few teams had cap to sign him. Same with Tatar. I'm sure he expected more...and maybe was even offered it earlier, but looked what he had to settle for.
