It would obviously be a big cap hit year one, and then, 1m or so for next 6. Getting good picks in return for this and they get a great top defenceman in return. Ottawa gets a top centre for a great price plus Tippet which is the main part of the deal.

Why is Ottawa addressing a need they dont have (centers) while worsening their d core?? What need do they have for Couturier (or any C) when they have Stutzle, Norris, Pinto, and hell even Giroux is an elite C if he has to be.

Take out every single asset in this proposal and it works


Not to mention that blue chip prospects Ridly Greig and Zack Ostapchuk are also centers
