Kane isn’t interested in missing the playoffs

I don't see Lucas Raymond or Jonatan Berggren being on the first powerplay as is but especially if they sign Kane. I would keep Rasmussen with Copp and Perron as that was a really good line for them. Rasmussen is better than both based on last season. You need some balance to your lines too. I don't think they sign Kane and they probably keep Raymond on the first line. Jonatan Berggren will probably start in Grand Rapids. He's not good enough to make the top six and he's not a bottom six style of player. And he's on a two way contract. Don't forget Jonatan Berggren and Lucas Raymond are in contract years too.

Well, I dont think he want to be a 3rd-liner and play defence either. He is going to be the main man on the powerplay and a 1st-line player in Detroit. I dont think any other team who is fighting for a playoff spot can offer him that role. He is going to get paid and have a good year and if teams are interested at TDL, then Yzerman should let him leave. Its a win-win.



I think most do, but for me, its more about what role you offering Kane. If your club isnt a dumpster-fire, I think it could be done

The balance goes out the window if Detroit signs Kane. I tried to justify it by looking at Tampa last year. They played an all offence line 5on5 with Stamkos-Point-Kucherov. Maybe Detroit can do something similair because neither Kane or Debrincat backchecks.

If they sign Kane then I think they either start Raymond in Grand Rapids or trade him. Someone is getting traded then anyways cus they already have too many forwards

Kane probably doesn't sign until he's healthy and likely to a team well established in a playoff spot at that time.
