That’s definitely a possibility;I’m not sure he’d get picked up but with the Leafs luck on waiver wire - probably. I just like 12/6 better & Holmberg showed me enough last year to warrant starting with the big club

These were almost my exact forward lines. I flipped Domi and Bertuzzi.

Domi and Marner have history/chemistry. I want to see a small sample of them together in preseason to see what's there.

I separated Matty and Marner because the other 4 there aren't exactly known for the defensive side of the puck.

Out of all of Trelivings moves, it's the defensive side which has me concerned, the focus was definitely offense. The Klingberg contract is what I'm most nervous about. I haven't heard a single good thing about his defensive game and heard nightmares about it.

I like Holmberg more, but with him being waiver exempt, you could be right.

Leafs need Timmins on the everyday roster. Gio isn't an everyday player if you expect him to excel come playoff time.

I think if Gio as reg season player only we; maybe even with load management but he played really really well for extended periods last year. For playoffs, seems clear they’ll need to make trade at deadline for a heavy, shutdown defender

Not ideal, granted but best lineup we’ve had (forwards for sure) since Marner / Matthews era.
Flat cap has burned a lot of teams, not just the Leafs; hope bettman is happy - seems he’d rather screw the league than grant the players any kind of a concession. Other leagues are flying in terms of revenue and nhl looks like a bush league (again)

All has to do with the NHLPA and the union.
