1.
MTL
  1. Leonard, Ryan [Liste de réserve]
Détails additionnels:
For me, it was between Leonard and Michkov. Too soon to tell but I’m more and more certain that Hughes made the right choice
2.
MTL
  1. Wright, Shane
Détails additionnels:
Like many people, I had Wright over Slaf.

I’m so happy we made the right choice
3.
MTL
  1. Lambert, Brad
Détails additionnels:
I prefered Lambert and was angry they didn’t pick him.

I’m still a little dissapointed by Mesar while Lambert look great. Too soon to tell but doesn’t look pretty good
4.
MTL
  1. Räty, Aatu
Détails additionnels:
I hated the Mailloux pick. Not because of his behavior, but because I though he was a bad player.

It’s too soon to tell but I would still pick Raty
5.
MTL
  1. Mercer, Dawson
Détails additionnels:
I wanted them to take Mercer. I wanted him so bad. It sucks we didn’t get him.

Guhle is a good player but we would be infinitely better with Mercer
6.
MTL
  1. York, Cam
Détails additionnels:
I was so happy Caufield dropped that low. If he didn’t, I would have took York.

Caufield is better, no doubt
7.
MTL
  1. Kotkaniemi, Jesperi
Détails additionnels:
You might not believe me, but I loved the KK pick. My favorite was Svech tho… I didn’t like Tkatchuk, I was thinking he wouldn’t be more than a middle six enforcer (this aged so incredibly well).

Still think Michkov should have been the pick at 5, not that I don’t think Reinbacher will be good, I just think Michkov will be special. Slaf will be a beast, just needs to keep getting stronger and he’ll start to take off

Oh so so sad. Would even crack the MTL lineup if he did play for them because of how many Dmen they have?? It would be very interesting. Also knowing MTL, they would somehow screw up his development somehow

Michkov just didn’t seem like a top 6 fit for you guys with Suzuki and Canfield already undersized, Leonard’s plays big so he would have been a good fit! Actually like the a Reinbacher pickup and think he proves people wrong.

Mailoux to me is exactly what you want from a late 1st D pickup! Big strong RD with good offensive upside! Hell I’d trade the Penguins 1st for him right now if I was sharks GM.

Honestly I thought the line of Dach-Suzuki-Caufield was lights out. Add in Slaf-2C-Michkov would be quite a solid Top 6 IMO. But really can’t go wrong developing from the backend out, just think Michkov is going to come over and produce right away similarly to what Kaprizov did.

Unless you have a D group with size to crush them!
5’7” caufield 5”10 Suzuki 5’8 Michkov
That would be the smallest line in hockey and yes dangerous but I see that trio getting killed in a playoff series by opponents D.

But what you guys need is some size to compliment your smaller forwards! Plus I’d trust your GM as he’s done a pretty good job so far

I mean Dach at 6’4 on the line with Suzuki and Caufield would add that size element, not to mention Slaf is 6’3 and if they add a bigger 2C with Michkov (if they had drafted him), think it be pretty balanced in terms of size. Plus add size to your bottom 6 and D corps and you should be okay.

Michkov has a 90% chance of being the second-best player in the draft, yet he fell to 7. It's not a question of talent for picking Michkov or not, it's deciding to go the Michkov route or not. MTL was decided not to, and they picked the BPA, that wasn't Michkov (I personally had Leonard 5th and Reinbacher 6th)

Yeah. Michkov has such a shot. If not for Russia he would have most likely gone 2nd. Maybe even battled Bedard for 1st

Don't know about battling against Bedard, but he's pretty damn good. We'll see how he translates to the NHL, not just ice-wise, but culture/lockerroom-wise, where I think the problems could arise.

I don’t know. I think he could’ve govern Bedard a run for his money. Yes he is really good. I think locker room wise yes he has some issues but hopefully that can change

100%! I personally would have went Michkov but Reinbacher was my #1 D on the board, so he’s definitely not some random who they picked at 5! (Unlike my team picking Boucher at 10 lol) He’ll be really good once he makes the jump! Not to mention Hutson, Mailloux and Barron, Montreal building quite a deep and good D corps! I’m sure they’ll go with a forward with their 2024 pick to round out the team!

It’s a little early to say Slaf was the right choice is it not?

While I think Reinbacher will be really good, I think Montreal (as well as Arizona and San Jose) are going to regret passing on Michkov. But I do think Reinbacher will live up to his draft spot

Slaf is 100% the right choice over Wright. Cooley is better but he wasn’t an option in 2022
