Roy had really great ideas & really bad ones too. The man revolutionized modern goalie pads, & created the coaching strategy to pull a goalie before 2m. However, as coach, Roy demanded the Avs chip the puck out of the D zone. This created so many turnovers and was the reason for their bad metrics. He also used the bizzare man-to-man D system, which they eventually ditched bc it was very tiring & confusing.
If he were to coach again, I'd hope he has adapted
