You did not just say that, I mean come on, that's insanely dumb.

Skill wise its basically DeBrincat and Talbot versus Tarasenko, Norris, Chychrun, Korpisalo, and Kubalik because the others are useless, which is obviously not even close.

Contract wise, none of these players are overpaid by more than a million so even if they're technically overpaid you take this roster any day of the week over the other one.

Not to mention both Chychrun and Kubalik are underpaid (Chychrun by 2/2.5 million, Kubalik by 500k-1 million) so it makes up for the others who might be a bit overpaid.

You didn't read the 2nd part of what I said but I'll give you a little bit of wiggle room bc of your rage

Norris hasn't played over 70 games, has only had 1 60 games campaign and played 8 this past year, there's def. recency bias here in calling his contract an overpayment considering what you could get with that 8 mill... ADB, Stuzle, Thompson, Tkachuk, Suzuki all have similar contracts and are all so much better than Norris'...

Tarasenko also finds himself under the injury bug curse but is also 31... But he doesn't have that grit to him either than say a Max Domi, who's getting paid 3 mill or Tyler Bertuzzi, who's getting paid only .5 mill more. Though I do like that it's only a 1 year deal.

Korpisalo screams Jack Campbell 2.0. You've got a career backup who finally gets his stroke of luck by playing in front of a good defence when he gets the starting job but starts to falter near the end of his short crusade... But in FA, he signs with a team with lacklustre defence and who have a habit of overpaying goalies... Sound familiar?

Kubalik is average... reminds me of a less defensive Alex Kerfoot... If anything league average players shouldn't be getting paid 2.5 mill

While the Chychrun is a good one... it 1 doesn't out weigh the other bad contracts and 2 isn't 2-2.5 mill better... He also hasn't played 70 games in his career, isn't a number 1 defensemen and hasn't produced in the playoffs. He isn't near Morgan Rielly who's making 7.5 and is being called overpaid.

Oi vey... how exactly is Tarasenko under an injury bug curse? Apart from a surgery snafu over one injury that is old news, he's been rather durable over his career. And he has no grit??? What??? It sounds like you've never actually seen him play.

2019-20, 2020-21, 2022-23 have all had Tarasenko miss at least 12 games because of something in the past 4 seasons

That's a little concerning

Norris did not miss a game his rookie year (it was a shortened season) and then he missed the last season and a bit because of a shoulder injury. But he decided to get surgery so that won't be an issue anymore. People forget he was on pace for 44 goals and our best defensive forward at the same time. How much less do you want a guy like that making?

The sens don't need grit like the leafs do. Their captain lead the league in fighting majors and they had 3 guys over 100 pims whereas the leafs top guy besides bunting barely broke 50. I think we're covered in that department - we'll take the guy that had 82 points in 75 games a year ago.

With Korpisalo - last I checked columbus wasn't that good last year? idk maybe I'm wrong

How does Kubalik remind you of kerfoot at all? They are completely different players. Kubalik has more goals that Kerfoot in half the games played. Kubalik has scored 30, Kerfoot has never even broke 20? weird comparison. I'll pay guys 2.5 all day if they put up 20. You can do that when your top guys aren't greedy.

You say Chychrun isn't a number 1 defenceman but he sure produces like one. But that's okay, even if he's not, the good thing is Ottawa still has 2 other D who are even better. Keep saying Ottawa has lackluster defence though.

Norris still hasn't played a 70 game season... WDYM? In Norris' rookie year, he was on pace for 24 goals, not 44...

The Sens 100% need grit... The Leafs went 4-1-0 agaisnt the Sens in the past 5 games... And BTW, 2 of the 3 guys on the Sens who broke that 100 PIMS mark are on different teams. BTW, get your facts straight, Bunting had 103 PIMS, Schenn had 70+, Gio had 50+ and Simmonds had 49 with Reaves coming who had 43 PIMS in 73 games, Bertuzzi, who had 29 PIMS in 50 games, Klingberg, who had 34 PIMS in 67 games and Domi, who had 82 PIMS... Leafs don't need grit unless it helps them win... The Sens, meanwhile have Stuzle in 5th (with 54 minutes, mostly for diving). Wasn't that you same mentality with Murray? Great season 2 years before signing, the year before contained average results and the following year, well, we've seen how that turned out

Korpisalo had 2 good seasons, Campbell had 2 good seasons... My bad, thought his 2019-20 season was the 2021-22

Kubalik's also never hit 50 points... it evens out... And is also worse defensively... When he's on the ice, he does a lot of nothing but scores at a semi more frequent pace (11 goals different is roughly a semi more frequent pace). And also, Matthews is a top 3 player, Marner's a top 20 player, Nylander took less than 8 and Tavares is still a PPG player and is a leader on and off the ice

He doesn't though... Despite getting all the ice time out in AZ, his best season is 2020-21 (he also hasn't played 70 games yet) where he put up 41 points in 56 games, a 60 point pace...
