Description

Hanifin is a player who wants to leave and thus must leave before the season.
Vladar is a "victim" of Wolf's performance in the AHL. Wolf deserves the chance in the NHL and will hopefully use it. It may also be that with the cap space generated by the Hanifin trade, the Flames will risk it and let Vladar play via waivers in the AHL instead of Wolf. thus making the backup position dependent on training camp. even with the deliberate risk that Vladar get claimed via waiver.

the 3 new players I see as a project. If they impose themselves can be spoken with them about a longer-term commitment.

So weird thing, and I know a small part of your post, Nolan Patrick will never play in Calgary. He has spent his whole life dealing with serious migraines, Calgary being notoriously dry, at high elevation with bitter winters that can have 40 degree switches in 24 hours would be absolute hell on the kid.

Wouldn't it be sweet to bring in Bear and Puli, they have bounce back seasons and haunt the Oilers.
