Matthews isn’t overrated. He’s a top 3-5 player in the league. I get not having him on because he’s a pending UFA, but saying he’s overrated/overpaid is wrong

He is 100% overpaid and Toronto is gonna have to overpay to keep him there’s lots of players who put up Matthew numbers for about 2-3 million cheaper

No, but if you're calling Matthews overpaid then you have to say the same for McDavid. Since, Matthews has come into the league he has 13 more goals than McDavid has scored, just not as many assists. So like stated if you're calling Matthews overpaid in the final year of his UFA you have to say the same for McDavid and vice versa if you say McDavid is at value then you have to say Matthews is at value.


Additionally, to prove another point Crosby has more points than Matthews during same time frame but while still scoring over 200 goals since 2016, but "Isn't top 10 value in the league".
