Seven years of 30 year old Parayko.....no thanks

I'd hardly call Colton Parayko a top D anymore, he's been on the decline for the past couple of seasons anyway. And will only be trending down further.

Blues cannot afford to pay Nylander what he wants, and Blues cannot afford to move Parayko. Contrary to popular belief, Parayko is not a shell of himself. His role has substantially increased as his partners have substantially decreased. No other d man in the league is asked to play 20 minutes + a night 5v5 with 30% ozs.

I don’t think he’s worth the Leafs trading a guy like Nylander for. But the Blues cannot afford to extend Nylander, nor can they afford to lose Parayko. The rest of our d core aside from Bortuzzo is offensive minded and needs to be heavily sheltered which is why Parayko is asked to do what he’s being asked to do with a combination of Mikkola, Scandella and Leddy.

People don't respect guys like kyrou, Thomas, even schenn enough...it's becoming very difficult to get into the playoffs these days and st. Louis has lost Pietrangelo, orielly Tarasenko but they are still very good most people just repeat what they hear from rumours and those who talk too much and don't watch the games enough...that's why I chased parayko because he's still elite...hope the blues make a good run next year, cheers!
