For the last time, Petry wants the East Coast only. He's not waiving for Dallas just because his wife Julie has ties to Texas. He wants to be near his Michigan home.

It's not my opinion, It's pure facts reported by several credible NHL insiders.

He also only has a 15 no trade list, that still leaves 16 teams he has no say about being sent to. Dallas may be in that list, they may not, no one on this site knows

Exactly.. He know, his agent knows, his wife knows and the GMs from where he's from and going to know. Hockey insiders have some info on specific players, but us here on the site.. We're just spit ballin' here and actually don't know which X player put what Y team on their no trade lists. If Colorado calls and want him, if Vegas calls, if LAK call... he may not care about the travel knowing he's going to a team able to compete for the cup and play in great locations. People saying he's specifically said he wants to stay on the east coast are confusing some info that got shared about him wanting to be closer to home which most players want, vs "but if that team calls.. I'll waive and pack in a minute.."

I asked you to provide a credible source and you never did.

He said he wanted to be close to "family", not Michigan.

Edit: it was someone else, sorry. Still, no source on Michigan only, not Texas.

I loved the "He's not waiving for Dallas just because his wife Julie has ties to Texas. He wants to be near his Michigan home." so basically, this guy has an insider scoop close to the family that told him Petry wants to be close to Michigan for his home, but the hell with his wife and her ties to another city where he could be valuable and maybe even get another year contract after next, and potentially be on a winning team.. LOL! He made me laugh out loud..

Petry will, like most players, put on his no trade list cities he's doesn't want to go to and just float around for another losing season. He thought PITS would make the playoffs hence agreed to go there. Now, what's funny is that he didn't put MTL on his no trade OR he lifted the NTC and agree to go back with a) the assurance he would be moved again before the season start or b) he actually had a change of heart and doesn't mind coming back.. which would be weird..

If Dallas has a chance of making them happy, he'll go there.. Colorado, LAK, etc etc etc.. If the destination brings something to him and his family, he'll go like any other players. Pretty sure he didn't put all west coast cities on his NTC. His decision go be closer to home was right after the pandemic and his wife seemed to be bothered by some of the way thigns were handled. It may have passed, and the closer to home deal may not even be in the cards anymore. Kids are a year older, etc etc etc..
