If bouchard will sign for 7.5 why wouldn't Edmonton just sign him instead of taking back 7 million dollars in salary for guys they don't really want

That trade doesn't get Evan Bouchard, And fat chance of Andrew Copp waiving to go back to any Canadian team when he wanted out of Canada.

I actually wanted the Red Wings to draft Evan Bouchard but they drafted Filip Zadina... I knew it was a bad pick right away.. Ken Holland can't really draft although I did like Broberg but he hasn't been anything special yet for the Oilers. I actually did a internship with the London Knights when Bouchard played for them and he was really good offensively. He's always had a great shot from the point. I think Ken Holland did a great job at getting Ekholm though and putting them together. I don't think they would accept this trade but I could make some good ones. Ben Chiarot at 50% retained, Albert Johansson, Jonatan Berggren and a 2024 second round pick for Bouchard. Probably a overpay but you're not going to get him for free.
