Value is very good for Vancouver, the question is how are they going to sign Nylander? They're not in a position to rent him with future picks, so unless Nylander wants to be there long term this would be a very strange choice.

I think he would stay to play with Petterson

He spends time in California on the off-season so west coast would be alright and teams do like to trade big fish across conferences for sure

Meh Vancouver been really unlucky we have seen them play really well at times, boeser is nice and healthy and demko with Miller and Petterson playing well and then add Nylander...people and players in the NHL know this stuff and see it differently than we do I'm pretty sure he would give it a go in Vancouver it's not like well established top teams have money for him either

People on cf have deals with him going to Winnipeg even I made one a month ago now that's for sure a place that Nylander won't go I'm not even sure he will go to Calgary he's a bit of a flashy guy you know Vancouver is probably interesting to him

Only reason the Leafs do this trade is to get 2m cap relief in the Garland/Nylander swap. But don't think it's great idea for the idea for Canucks trading for a guy who odds are is a UFA next summer.

Nylander is 4 years younger and much much better. Nylander is going to resign in TO and this bull**** will finally end. Poor Borjshlapsky will have no more material. Although we can be pretty confident that he'll pivot to horribly bad Marner trades immediately.

I don't think Nylander to Vancouver makes sense for Vancouver. We have to sign Pettersson and Hronek to new contracts after this season, Kuzmenko the following season plus try to improve our defense and 3C. There's also the dead cap space from the OEL buyout. Unless Nylander wants to sign at a discount (he won't) it would just keep Vancouver in cap space hell. We also need to stop giving up draft picks and improve our prospect pool.

He will probably sign in TOR but it's not gonna be good for the team, he's gonna get massively overpaid and it will hold the team back

Treiliving won't re-sign him he's not dubas he's totally different we seen it with Tkachuk and Gaudreau he doesn't play games but I think he's just a guy that will give a guy room to negotiate but he's not afraid to lose him if it's outside of what he's willing to give so I think Nylander is definitely done in Toronto.

Well everyone said that Huberdeau was a fantastic pick up for Calgary if they were going to move Tkachuk and Tkachuk is way more valuable than Nylander so if a lesser player comes back especially at $4-5M less than Nylander cost I won't be surprised to see treiliving do that..

But let's see the Leafs have top guys on expiring contracts and they go and get the guy that's moved off of his 2 best players in the past 2 years so something might be in the works there

Sam Lafferty plays a good center, Domi can play center, they could sign bailey who can play center then Tavares, Kampf, Matthews and Holmberg isn't an NHL player.

So essentially it doesn't really change anything they could still use another quality defenseman you could say too but both those areas I think will get figured out.

And look how that turned out for him. Can you imagine how bad his image will look if he comes in here and immediately loses his stars? No chance. Your dream of seeing the leafs burn is going to end soon.
