I don't get this move. Why bring in such an expensive piece and sign him to such a lucrative contract if he's gonna be your 3C? Especially at the cost of your already poor depth at wing. And moving a first round pick after such a poor season? So much risk here for a move that doesn't address the team's real needs.

Why are the Nucks doing this and making him the 3rd line C, plus Calgary could likely get a better return from other teams..

I don't see why any team would want to sign Lindholm to a seven year contract, which starts when he 29 years, 10 months old......and to give up all those picks too.

Don't make a trade and keep the picks and keep the cap and see how to spend it next summer.

I don’t think this trade is a good idea but Vancouver has some of the best depth at wing in the league. Pearson is a potential 15-20 goal guy on the 4th line most likely not many teams have that. Vancouvers problem is a 3c and more tinkering on the blueline not wingers.

Problem is you don't have any high end wingers. It's Kuzmenko and a bunch of middle six wingers.

The longer term plan is to have Raty be the 3C (when he is ready) then Miller moves to the wing and Lindholm becomes the 2C. Hoping that Sasson can be the 4C at the same time.

Weird statement, as if that isn't something that happens regularly in the NHL. No chance he gets less than 7 years on his next deal

I’d somewhat agree with that but no team in the league has an entire top 6 of high end players. That’s just not possible in the cap world

Canucks don't have poor winger depth, even after moving Garland, but yeah, the move doesn't make sense

Boeser isn't a middle six winger, he's a bonafied top six forward, heck, Mikheyev with better health could even play himself out of that stratosphere, he was a good middle six pivot when not even fully healthy

New Jersey might have something to say about that, but hey, look how Vegas was forced to choose between Barbashev and Reilly Smith, unless Dorofeyev has this massive out-of-his-mind breakout season, then it might be for moot

Hard disagree on Boeser. He is highly overrated.

No, you don't understand, he's been through hell and high water personally these past couple of seasons, no reason to doubt why he can't bounce back. If you can't acknowledge when an athlete is thrown curveballs in his personal life and understand that they may not be able to perform at their best during that time, then that's on you
