not the instant no that i have for most EP trades, its just the realism factor that has MTL not ever offer this, and VAN remain loyal to their guy unless negotiations go really bad

For pete id add the 2026 1st as well. Hed be the missing piece for the habs and i dont think theyll be bad enough (or actually pick the right guy) to get a top 3 pick to get that elite player

It’s an interesting offer. I would only move Pettersson if I’m absolutely blown away by an offer I can’t refuse. The value is somewhat there, but I’d still decline. Suzuki would be a nice piece to get back in a deal, and there’s a lot of value. It’s just that when dealing Pettersson, I’d want more certainty than just Suzuki. The picks are great, but they don’t hold enough certainty in my eyes. They could be high, but could also fall low. Even if they are high, you can still end up with a bunch of Juolevi/Virtanen/etc. type picks that completely sway the value of the deal. Still an intriguing offer though.

Far too much when this is still a lottery team the next 2 years.
