Yeah definitely a big Krebs fan, just wasn't sure if the Sabres would keep Mittelstadt or Krebs
It would be very unlikely that the Sabre would be trading Krebs who will be cost controlled for the next 3 years or more.
Newhook (63 pts over the past TWO seasons of 153 games) certainly should have set the market for Casey Mittelstadt (59 pts last season and 100 pts over his last 163 games).
The Sabrea are in a most fortunate situation.
They have a fistfull of prospects who could be better than the players they have in the NHL.
It would be likely that
Casey would be traded over Krebs, not because Krebs is better, but rather Casey should return a significant return, much more than Newhook (31st and 37th OA).
While most Sabre ACGM's will disagree with me,
Olofsson should return more than a mere third.
His cap hit is half, had more goals than DeBrincat last year while playing 500 fewer minutes, and did not have Pinto and Batherson as his primary line mates.
Victor has more goals over the past four seasons than Boeser and has a lower cap hit of nearly $2,000,000.
He will most likely be traded not because he is a one trick pony (who does that trick really well), but rather Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund and Benson combined cap will be less than his this year.
I see too many Sabre ACGM's diminish the value of his scoring prowess and over look that DeBrincat had a much worse +/- than his.
ONLY 23 NHL forwards scored faster than his 1.6 goals/60 min, that is a really good pony trick.
I would not suggest that he would return equal to Alex, but certainly significantly more than a third.
I could see an NHL GM viewing Casey and Victor as two thirds of a second line in exchange for a top 4 RHD.
