Pionk doesn't have that much value. You just spend a 1st + 3rd + a top prospect for- at best - a marginal improvement on defense. Does that seem like good asset management to you?

Edmonton wouldn't move Broberg for chyruchrun, I know I spelled that name wrong, so I don't know why they'd give him up for a lesser player

Not enough from Edmonton to dump Ceci and return a retained top 4 RHD. There's no incentive for Winnipeg to trade away a defenseman for less than it will cost to replace him.

Because Holland doesnt trade for players with a significant history of Injury(Chychrun). I see this as a trade deadline deal, by TDL when Broberg still isnt seriously challenging for a reg spot on the roster, Holland will have to give it up and admit he is a bust as far as first rnd picks go. And by that time Broberg's value will have diminished. So as I see it: 1rst rnd Pick and Broberg for Pionk. 3rd rnd pick for retaining some salary on Pionk and taking Ceci(assuming Ceci has continued with his awful play from the previous season).

Ceci was injured last season and his play wasn't "awful" in any case. I can see why you posted such an idiotic trade - you're full of biases.

Pionk has great value. He is a legit top 4 RHD who plays in all situations. I see this as a TDL deal. By TDL 2024 Broberg will still not be making a serious push for a reg spot on the roster so Holland will finally give in and admit he is a bust as far as early first rnd picks go. Because he waited so long Broberg's value will have greatly diminished. So I see it this way: 1rst rnd pick and Broberg for Pionk. 3rd rnd pick and Ceci for retaining salary and taking Ceci.... This is also assuming Ceci doesnt turn it around and continues to play like he did the season before. Its a fair trade.

Lol. I like Pionk, but if you think this isnt enough for him then you are definitely over valuing him.

LOL. Ceci's stats were better than Pionk's last year despite playing harder comp and more defensive zone starts. Keep him.

Ceci v Pionk

Ceci is a better defender than Pionk even though he was playing with a core muscle injury last year. Ceci also faced harder competition and more defensive zone starts.

Pionk also has TERRIBLE results v Elites.

Your bias flies in the face of the facts.

An LHD the Jets have absolutely no need of, a cap dump and a mid to late first doesn't get a top 4 rhd from anyone. You're greatly overvaluing mediocre prospects and cap dumps.

As I said the jets aren't trading him for less than it costs to replace him.

For sure. Just as you'd rather have Pionk so would Winnipeg. Everyone knows what Ceci is at this point in his career.

Ceci performed better than Pionk last year while playing harder competition and hard zone starts. He gets paid less. Yet somehow he's a cap dump and Pionk is a valuable asset!

Cool. It's Oiler fans asking for Pionk, not the other way around. Likely because Oiler fans realize that a few fluke games of Cecil playing above his head, doesn't make him more than what he always has been. An expensive 7/8 D. You're welcome to keep him because no one, not even Oiler fans want Cecil.

Every single team Ceci has played for has put him in the top-4. But I'm supposed to believe some sour Jets fan over multiple NHL coaches? tears of joy

Lol. Now that's a silly supposition. Playing higher in the lineup than he should because the teams he plays on have nothing better, doesn't make him a top 4D. His actual play level is what determines his ultimate value, which has always be replacement level play.

Add I said, there is a reason Edmonton fans are so keen on dumping Ceci. If he was a real top 4 defenseman, Edmonton wouldn't have the luxury of moving him.

This is hilarious, since I posted a link in this very thread SHOWING THAT CECI'S RESULTS WERE SUPERIOR TO PIONK'S.
