They may be a few out there, but I have personally not seen any Boston fans claim that the Bruins will be able to trade for a bonafide 1C by offering DeBrusk 1 for 1. Just because we don't want JGP and his contract does not make us delusional.

Right, because he'd be apart of a package for 1C in a hypothetical trade. The Jets or Flames aren't giving up Chef or Lindholm for DeBrusk straight up. No Bruins fan has argued that. You Isles fans sure love to try and justify JGP for JD tho. A guy that scored three 5-on-5 goals last year is a pure cap dump and certainly doesn't net a guy that scored 18 5-on5 goals.

Debrusk had 23 expected goals and his team has lost their 1C, and probably Krejci as well, weakening that forward group quite a lot.

He is not good. He is replaceable. Anthony Duclair is better than him and look what he got. He can be a part of a package, but you aint getting anything signifigant if hes the main piece.

And for the record, centers have way more value than wingers, and Pageau only had 3 less expected goals than Debrusk... one is due for positive regression and the other is due for negative. Not saying the Bs do this but its not like Debrusk is way better than Pageau.

DeBrusk is far better than Pageau. Losing a 1C can negatively impact any winger, so a regression to the mean is predictable, but to say DeBrusk isn't good is ludicrous, if not downright troll level.

Never said he isn’t good. Just said he’s easily Replaceable. His analytics aren’t very good and they all point to last year being a big outlier. Projections have him barely cracking 20 goals this year. You could get similar production for a quarter of the price form someone like Vatrano, Noesen, Rodriguez, Domi, Perron, Anthabasiou, etc. sure he’s younger but he’s not getting significantly more when guys like these are easily accesible.

Plus I’d rather have players like Fabbri who historically go for much less. Duclair I already mentioned.

Additionally, this isn’t saying debrusk is bad. He is very solid, but he just doesn’t have much value on the trade market. The bruins are better off keeping him and trading Lysell or Lohrei with picks for a center

I wanted duclair very bad. I made an AGM where I traded a 3rd and Robin Salo for him. I got clowned on with comments like this. I said that players like him don’t get hauls.

He got traded for a 5th and 13F. Debrusk is a similar player who is younger but makes more. He will get more, but not a lot. I want debrusk because he is a good player. And he’s better than Palmieri, Engvall, etc. Hes similar to Lee but faster, which is what Barzal needs. That’s why. Because he’s good. He’s just not a star
