I'm confused here. Helly is in the final year of his contract this season yet you trade him in 2025? Also Swayman will be signed this season so you wont be able to offer sheet him. Aho will be resigned this season or be a free agent signing at the beginning of next season.

He's trying to say Schmid isn't a real starter (as a goalie, not as a trade asset).

But then again Schmid was a .922 in the his 18 regular seasons and then .921 in the playoffs and saved our butts in round 1....but let them overlook him. It's fine.

First 9 games in playoffs....

Schmid: 0.921 Sv%, 2.35 GAA
Hellebuyck: 0.921 Sv%, 2.32 GAA

...and Schmid was two years younger

Look at the Defense depth of the team, keep in mind Morrissey was injured

So the Devils depth has gotten better, even if a bit greener.

The Devils didn't lose vs CAR because of bad goaltending by Schmid. The team didn't have the gas after the Rangers series, and Lindy went to VV who was in fact terrible in the playoffs. Rather stick with Schmid thick and thin and just trust the roster won't leave him out to dry again.
