bro what?? Rielly partner + 4th overall pick centerman (+ all the cap space vs. a 9.5M aav extension) for Nylander?? You can't possibly say they need to add a first to this trade, Leafs won't get any better quality out of the deal than this

I would actually accept that Leafs trade. I would prefer to remove Niemela or add a high pick from Seattle. But I would consider the trade you listed here heavily.

Wright on his ELC would be sweet and a very good compliment to what we have. Larsson was Seattles #2D this past year and is defensive and physical. Which is what the Leafs could use.

are you saying the Leafs decline? I'd probably take this and even if they did have to add for some reason you certainly couldn't call it a joke. I'd understand it more if you were talking the other way around

no guarantee wright is a boom or a bust at this point, if he flops that trade would look even worse than larsson for hall. get rid of niemela then no first but if niemela or liljegren is in then we should be getting a protected first back too imo, esp if willy agrees to an 8 year sign and trade

As a Seattle fan, this would get me back to rooting for Red Wings again. Big dreaming but makes the team even worse in the now and the long run. Giving up too much in every trade for talented players but the loss of depth is terrible in both of them.

no idea what you're talking about, this trade instantly makes seattle way better in the short term. yes it could look bad long term if wright turns into a star but he could just as easily flop in which case nylander for larsson would be the steal of the century for seattle. we're talking about a 40g, nearly 90pt winger who has consistently shown up in the playoffs when others haven't

gets us a solid partner for rielly, a guy who should be a solid ELC centreman for three contending years which is massive, and saves so much money against the cap to go get even more scoring help. I don't see how this isn't a win for Toronto.

I definitely think the Kraken should turn this down.
Way too early to write off of Wright and Larsson has been great for them. Would be stupid to sell off their potential future and their best D-man, for one year of semi bargain Nylander and at best more years of super expensive Nylander.

Seattle doesn't need that 90 points. They already showed they can score more goals than Toronto and did it with depth. Larsson is more valuable to Seattle than another winger. Seattle's defense is instantly worse by not only removing their #1 RHD, but you add an even less defensively responsible d-man in Karlsson. This makes Seattle worse both tomorrow and 5 years from now in the loss of picks, and cap space. While I'm sure both players are on the radar, go read comments by RF and DH and they aren't going to be trading for stars in the off-season or the deadline.
