Dvo does p.k., is great at faceoffs, and is a 3rd line center as you said, he doesn't really hit, but he does block the occasional shot. He's a fit, but not at this price.

He “does” PK but it doesn’t mean he is good at it. JT Miller does PK but that doesn’t mean he should. Faceoffs are just about his only attribute which is terrible when his cap hit is 4.5 mil. Never hit 40 points in a season, TERRIBLE defense analytics. Beauvillier at least has 1 year left, not 3

Dvorak has 2 years left not 3. Similar cap hit and he is a center which is harder to find. I think both players fit a need for the other team. Maybe MTL adds a little bit (the could swap picks) but with a rising cap next year, Dvorak at 4.45 M$ would not be an issue for the Canucks.

Beauvillier could probably do a better job at playing center outside of taking Faceoffs. Faceoffs is the only thing that makes Dvorak an NHL player. He is replacement level

It’s not like if Beauvillier was a star player either… scored 20 goals only once early in his career. So in terms of value they are close and would be a better fit on these new teams

I find it silly to base everything on advanced stats, especially on the leagues best or worst teams. Getting a prime age 3C who can play all situations for just Beauvillier would be a good move, and create much better depth down the middle.
