Necas does not have more value then Nylander The UFA/RFA status has little impact compared to a proven 40 goal scorer hitting his prime. Necas is half the cap hit of Nylander because he is half the value of Nylander. Nylander's number will be higher on a team where he gets the prime minutes and not behind #34 and #16.

Necas has had 1 good season. Nylander has put up great numbers every year. Nylander has been a PPG player in the playoffs the last 3 years.

Nylander has been putting up points since he joined the league he has 2 x PPG seasons and 5 seasons like Necas best season (this year) He has shown constancy.

Necas put up 28 this year when he played with Kotkaniemi and his linemate (Svechnikov) had his cruciate ligament detonate 2 months before the end of the season. Necas can easily hit 35+, and Nylander likely doesn't his 40 if he's not playing with the loaded talent around him. On top of that, Necas is just a better playmaker with the better speed. It's actually 3 years in age between Necas and Nylander, my mistake. Necas was 2017 draft class, Nylander was 2014.
