Quoting: Claesson4Norris
Calgary isn't taking that deal, but also, trading a major haul for a rental C so you can play the best centre since Spezza on the 2nd line LW is dumb as hell. Timmy is a centre, not a winger
Yeah lol nobody is taking away the 1st line center role from Stutzle, not even an healthy Norris who is also a legit 1st line Center on many teams.
Calgary would be dumb crazy to not take this deal for a player heading into UFA after the season
2024 1st round pick (DET) : 75% of DeBrincat's return
Brännström, Erik : young rising 2-way D-man, wouldn't trade him now as he has no peaked yet -> late 1st value
Järventie, Roby : early 2nd round pick who is developing well -> late 1st value
Joseph, Mathieu : serviceable bottom-6 forward, elite PK metrics, no value, just salary going the other way
Quoting: Gag1
Ottawa: Lindholm and Zadorov or Tanev
Calgary: Pinto or Greig, Joseph, Kleven and 1st (assuming Lindholm signs an extension)
I actually wonder in Tavev would be a better fit to play with Sanderson. He was great with Hughes and Kylington. I also think Chychrun will probably get injured (he averages about 55 games per year).
Guys. What about Claude Giroux and Travis Hamonic for Dustin Wolf, Jakob Pelletier and a 1st?
This is basically what you are asking. Ok Giroux is older than Elias but he turns 29 y/o in December.
Greig, Pinto and Kleven are NEEDED for what Ottawa is building. You don't move those pieces.
And enough with trading 1st round picks. Dorion traded the last 2 and totally missed on the one before
Sens already have Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson and Giroux who can post impressive offensive numbers. Pinto, Greig and Kubalik can put very good support numbers.
Don't sell the future. Acquire a cheaper 2-way top-9 forward and go from there. Anyway, the only will really take off when they finally get NHL level management and coaching
I love Lindholm but he is not a NEED and you don't sell the farm to create a logjam at Center (Greig and Ostapchuk are also centers but probably won't have a chance to play down the middle for years)

Calgary declines. If you want Lindholm it starts with Greig.
Straight up no. Pinto and Greig were not available for Chychrun (and probably DeBrincat), which means the Sens preferred to give up top-15 first round picks than trade them. And Dorion's valuation of his own prospects is basically the only thing he does well (IMO)
