Best constructed roster but can't win dog all with their current roster. It's crazy to think no teams in the Atlantic are better than the Hurricanes when one of those teams swept you. How can the division be the best but not have any better teams? Makes no sense.

Even when you look at the rosters there is no team better than the Hurricanes or Devils. I think the Hurricanes and Devils have the best-constructed rosters in the league when you consider the all-around game. Sure a team like the Leafs might have more offensive firepower but the Hurricanes have much better defenders (both forwards and d-men) and goaltending and enough firepower to put them over the edge. The Atlantic might be the best division but none of the teams in there are better than the Hurricanes

i mean no doubt in my mind the canes are top 5 in the league, but to be honest arguing who is the best before a season starts is a bit of a moot point. No one would have guess boston to be this good last year for exemple. We'll see how the teams does enventually, but no doubt in my mind the canes are top notch contender, doesnt matter if ther are third, first or fifth really.

The Hurricanes are better than the Panthers... they lost because of a combination of Bob and Injuries to our stars. The gap in teams is way bigger in the metro than the Atlantic.

They lost because they were not the better team. Florida made the best team in NHL history look like fools and they dog walked over Toronto. Simply put. You Carolina fans really need to step out of your echo chambers man. Maybe if Carolina had Svech back in, they could take a game or two, but Florida had your number, they were simply better. Carolina is a good team in that they can get themselves to the 2nd/3rd round but never have the 'oomf' to get them over the hump. Not even close... It was an even series... Sometimes series like this happen in hockey sometimes. The Hurricanes play a too-soft style of game in the playoffs which is why we went out and got Orlov, Bunting and Lemieux. Their regular seasons over the past few seasons indicate that they do have the talent... they just need to translate it to the playoffs

Ummm... they aren't excuses... the hurricanes can't finish chances and the injuries hurt their chances to win that series
