Boston definitely doesn't have anywhere close to the cap space for that. Also a pretty meh return. Lysell and Lohrei are decent prospects but not amazing, Frederic is a decent depth player, and Harrison isn't worth much at all. If this was the return for even just Lindholm I would be a bit disappointed but probably accept it. I would not make this trade including Hanifin

CGY would need to take back a defenseman, preferably Grizzlick.

I think BOS can only realistically expect one of those, and that'd be Lindholm

Calgary fans are the most delusional people on the planet.

Every fan based is biased towards their own players on here (including Bruins Fans). This trade would not work for either team. But what is delusional is to think that a handful of "B" and "C" prospects would be good enough to acquire a #1 Center and a Top 4 Defender.

Boston Ranks 32/32 in terms of NHL farm systems (...Calgary isn't great either). "As has been the case the last few seasons, the Bruins continue to have the worst prospect pool in the NHL. Not much there. It would be something of a miracle if the Bruins have a future star in their current pool"

The Bruins prospect pool sucks but has nothing to do with how delusional Flames fans are, and this trade is proof of it. Elias Lindholm is a nice player. He's not a top 25 forward in the league. Noah Hanifin is a solid 2nd pair D with a price tag higher than the Bruins are used to in that role.

In what planet would it make sense to give away the top 3 prospects in their very barren prospect pool, a 2nd/3rd line young player who will sign around $2mil, AND a first round pick - while adding about $9mil in cap hit and offloading $0 in cap space. You people live on PLUTO

I actually agree. I didn't put the trade together and I don't think it works for either side. Boston would need to move out salary to take on salary. At the same time, it would not work for Calgary because the prospects are not strong enough either. It does not work for either side.
