Edmonton isn't trading good players for less than they're worth. It makes the team worse and is poor asset management.

Also, Bouchard is going to want a lot more than that if he's committing to 8 years.

Ya, I can't see them settling for less than a 3rd for 5, and a 3rd for 37. Shi*ty thing is, I like both players, more so Foegs based off of last season. But, apparently Ceci battled a hernia all season. Who knows? That being said, I'd run with this. Altered the Bouchard contract, and what do you think about that trade for Pesce?

CAR would have already Pesce for that price …
The Bouchard contract doesn’t make sense for both camps
Overpay in terms of value for the Pesce trade as well
No one are paying to take Ceci & Foegele, despite them being decent players
Vegas had to dump Pacioretty… remember

I hate it. Pesce's Rels are worse than Ceci's and you're giving up FOUR 1st round picks for him. That would be one of the worst trades in league history.

And you apparently think he's only worth $5M on a long term contract, how is that player worth four 1sts? Could Edmonton get that for Hyman?

If Pesce was only asking for 5mil, there is no chance he isn’t already signed by the Canes. 2 late first round picks, and 2 whatever prospects that just get buried in the Canes pipeline would be a decent package if the Canes were rebuilding. Certainly aren’t going to be retaining salary on Pesce either. The picks are nice, but in the end, they are just magic beans. If Pesce gets moved, the Canes are upgrading their roster now, not 3-4+ years down the road.

Sure do, and how many games did that contract play for the Canes? No wonder VGK had to pay...

With all due respect, That Pesce trade is probably one of the worst trade I’ve ever seen on capfriendly. You’re acting like Pesce is top 5 in the NHL with that amount of assets that you’re adding (Edmontons entire farm and future).
