Zero way Dallas considers

As good as Marner is, Dallas is not in position trade Heiskanen for a winger.

Heiskanen is locked up at a good value. Plus the defense is the more fragile part of the team right now, so trading for 1 year of a guy who's gonna want significantly more cash is not great.

No one is going to trade for Marner’s contract.
Unless it’s a significant win.
A clear number one defence man for a winger doubt that would happen. I’d love it as a Leaf fan though.

I don't see why Dallas does this and why the Leafs do it, as good as Heiskanen is, the Leafs don't need a worse but younger Rielly, they already have that and Dallas doesn't need another Tyler Seguin, they already have one

Heiskanen is a worse but younger Rielly? Not trying to sound rude at all, but I'd genuinely love to hear an explanation as to why you think this

Playoffs production... Reilly's are better, especially at 5v5 and that's all the Leafs are worried about (look at Bert and Domi signing), they know they can get to the playoffs without Marner in the lineup, they are just worried about what are they going to do in them and Rielly has proven to step up his game, the more the game matters (12 points in 11 games this past playoffs, 1 of them on the PP, tied Theodore for most 5v5 playoffs points by a defensemen despite being knocked out in R2 vs Heiskanen having 12 points in 19 games, 9 of them on the PP)

Career wise (Rielly: 37 points in 50 games, Heiskanen: 45 points in 65 games)

There are some narratives going on about the Leafs that are right, Matthews and Rielly not showing up in the playoffs aren't 2 of them
