Ok even saying for a second TB would do this.
(They wouldn't) Why would a guy who after meeting w/you run to another organization and take substantially less money than he could have made then Waive to go there?

I don't think that's the argument you want to make here. A playoff run is far from signing a long term contract. I highly doubt Stamkos going to want to leave. He's staying in Tampa for his career. If he doesn't and wants a run only to resign in the summer, why wouldn't he pick TO?

But in any case, I would say this is pretty much as unlikely a scenario as there can be.

Guys sometimes don't want to "go home" to play take Vinny Lecavalier he admitted he blocked a trade to Montreal.

If you go back to some of the reasoning he (Stamkos ) gave the issues that bothered him about Toronto still exist. Honestly would Steven Stamkos be able in Toronto be able to sit down at a restaurant and not have all kinds of people approach? If he goes on a 7-10 game goal less streak is he not going to be ripped by every talking head jacka"* so no I actually stand by my argument

He’s won two cups and TB is getting older, what’s keeping him there? TO can’t even afford him anyways so it would purely be a rental trade. Guy can head into the off-season and make bank as a UFA wherever he wants.

Not saying this is gonna happen, just having some fun but still

Stamkos has said he really wants to be a bolt his whole career he's made a lot of money so I'm not sure biggest bank is the most important to him
