Boeser has very little value and Pod doesn't come close to making up the difference

No it isn't. Podkolzin shouldn't be written off just like that

Other team's also know that the Leafs are in a tight situation. What is stopping them from supposedly attempting to lowball offers for Nylander, that's not even considering Nylander's trade list

The fact that Nylander isn't on the block pretty much stops them in their tracks no?

Where is Toronto getting the cap space to fit both him and Matthews in?

Podkolzin is an AHLer and Boeser is a cap dump. Your offer probably gets you Matt Murray

True but he's not shown well and that does lower his value. In any case, he doesn't come close to making up the difference in Boeser and Nylander. In reality, pod has more value than Boeser who has none.

Saying Podkolzin is just AHL depth goes to show that you've been living under a rock

Pod could be something someday, likely will be a good player but Boeser is indeed a cap dump.

@Knuckls3 - none of us are actual GMs but do some homework 🤦🏻. Leafs have tons of cap space next year and beyond, easily fit Matty + Willy. Your GM just bought out one of the worst contracts in nhl with cap penalty for many years (worst yet to come) so focus on the west coast 😂

Podkolzin won't be sold low on, so don't advocate for him to be moved

He's wrong for sure but let's be honest here, he's a project. He's not yet a full time player

I am not advocating that, I have been clear that he is not remotely close to as valuable as Nylander.

Excuse me, but all that cap space you're referring to will get used up between two said players

Yes, he was always going to be a full time project. Guess what, Lekkerimaki and Klimovich are also projects, I know this regime didn't draft all of them, but they're obviously not afraid with working said player types who maybe need an extra twelve months to define their on ice tool sets

*Cough* *cough* David Kampf *cough* *cough* Ryan Reaves *cough* *cough* John Tavares *cough* *cough* Excuse me???

Even deals like T.J. Brodie and Calle Jarnkrok aren't amazing. Jarnkrok's deal could turn ugly in the final year or two

🤨 I think you need to look again…leafs have tons of cap space next year. Of course - it’s never enough (thanks to Gary and the owners for implementing the worst salary system in pro sports) - but they literally have tons and tons of space, like $46.7M (cap friendly estimate). So - do some homework - but you won’t get Willy either way. Big step down to go from T.O. To Van & he said his preference is to stay

Leafs have made playoffs seven straight years. None of these contracts are bad and if they are, maybe slight overpays. Canucks literally have (and had) many of the worst contracts in the league - OEL, Myers, Miller, Boeser, Garland😂. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black 😂😂total self own there, embarrassing

It won't be a step down if Vancouver is a playoff team next spring. Also, with the likes of Brodie expiring, and Klingberg only being on for a year, the right said needs to be revamped, that's not going to be cheap. What does a long-term extension for Max Domi look like also. Treliving will probably have to spend 2+ million to upgrade significantly on Matt Murray

We get it, you're a troll. Miller's contract isn't bad, Boeser and Garland are at worst slight overpays. Doesn't matter that the Leafs have made the playoffs if they keep looking listless in them. Dodging my arguments only make you look cowardly

Yeah Reaves isn't good at all. Brodie is definitely still a top 4 defenceman and Jarnkrok is a 20 goals scorer, good defensive player who can play anywhere in the lineup at 2.1 million a year. To say those last two are bad is just ridiculous

Sure but projects don't have great value until they show progress
