The Hurricanes would probably deal Skjei not Pesce

I’m sure that’s who they’d rather move but I’ve heard from pretty much everywhere it’s Pesce plus

Skjei makes the most sense because they right now have three-left handed defensemen who are top-four defensemen and Skjei is only one of those three that makes sense because the others are Jaccob Slavin (not being moved because he's one of the best defensemen in the leauge) and Dmitry Orlov (just acquired and makes no sense to move him)

Wasn't that a nightmare in SJ? Burns/EK on the same team didn't work. Why would they try that again?

I don't think Don is actually serious about acquiring EK for quite a few reasons... I think he is either
A. Driving the price up on Pittsburg
B. Using this as a smokescreen to deflect from other negotiations

The first is a first and White is a solid prospect. Pretty good for a second pair rental imho. A sign and trade would be a different story. It isn’t a three way. This scenario would be if Carolina traded for Karlsson and then SJ turned around and moved Pesce

I also doubt that the Hurricanes are actually interested in EK... it's way too public for Don Waddell

That is because everybody is focused on the rift between Pesce and the Hurricanes

Senko is not a long-term solution at LW or RW... I was thinking more Keller, DeBrincat, or Connor as long term solutions. A Svech-Aho-Connor line would be absolutely amazing

Is Keller available?? I haven’t seen him mentioned anywhere. I haven’t seen Carolina among team in on DeBrincat. I also don’t think Cat is worth Meier money. I think Peg is only looking to move Scheifele and Helle right now. I think you’d have to really impress them to consider Connor. Then you’re looking at pieces you don’t want to move

Not turning my nose up at Pesce. I want him for a reason. But I don’t see him pulling much more than a first with only one year left on his deal

I think that Keller can possibly be moved... I wouldn't know the price. The Hurricanes could more than throw themselves into the DeBrincat sweepstakes and Connor is somebody they could move if they decide a full scale rebuild is in order

Wadell is known for keeping things under wraps... My guess the public shopping is more for contract negotiations as leverage
